Who we are

Yvonne and David Lees are chartered architects by profession, with a combined experience of over 70 years in the construction industry. We have worked together for 30 years on a variety of high profile, multi-million pound projects.

After working for several prestigious practices in Manchester, London and the South East, in 2011 we launched our own practice, Lees Munday Architects.

Now retired from practising architecture, Blueridge Projects is a natural extension, formed to pursue property development exclusively, fully utilising our experience of development in many spheres, but particularly residential.

We are able to draw upon trusted and well-established collaborative relationships with construction specialists and consultants, matching the best skills to each project.

Yvonne Lees (formerly Munday) BA (Hons) D Arch | Director

Yvonne’s architectural career began at HLM in Richmond, Surrey with work on major hospitals and healthcare building design. Yvonne then led the design and specification of the £7m fit-out package for the market units of the £50m redevelopment of Smithfield Central Markets for the Corporation of London.

Further strategic career moves provided senior roles in award winning projects, including: a major City of London Office tower for Royal London Assurance (£22m); multiple unit London docklands housing at Limehouse Basin for Bellway Essex (262 apartments, £24m); and a major bespoke HQ building for the Permanent  Joint Forces for the MOD at Northwood. Her particular skill lay in planning, implementing and co-ordinating the CAD packages of large, complex projects.

At Lees Munday, Yvonne managed the practice finances, HR and marketing.

David Lees BA (Hons) Dip Arch (Dist) | Director

A multi-award winning architect, David’s career began auspiciously by winning a Civic Trust award for his first design upon leaving Sheffield University, for the Greater Manchester Fire Service HQ, whilst at BDP Manchester. A move to London to join Rock Townsend followed. As Partner he was responsible for implementing the practice's commercial and corporate work, including the £30m Regents Wharf office development Kings Cross, and the £30m Angel Square office and retail development at the Angel, Islington, incorporating the new tube station, also gaining an RIBA/DOE regional housing award for Wickham’s Wharf in Ware (McLean Homes).

Further career moves coincided with Yvonne’s and their collaboration began. David was lead design architect on the City office tower, the Docklands housing projects (Britannia National Home Builder, best apartment building award), and devised the bid winning concept design and detail implementation for the £150m MOD Joint Forces Command and Control HQ, awarded Best Public Private Finance Initiative Headquarters Building in 2011.

At Lees Munday, David’s excellence in concept design and practical abilities in construction technique enabled the realisation of many projects for satisfied clients.
